When the thirty day period of Rajab arrived, we would say Munassil al-Asinnah [the a single that triggers the sharp heads of weapons to generally be taken off], and we wouldn't leave any spear or arrow that experienced an iron piece in it but we would take the metallic head off and put it aside through the month of Rajab.
